So, here are the ups...
What a difference a week makes when I was photographing our first little sprout. Now almost all the beans, peas, and onions are up.
Okay, here are the DOWNS!!
We planted 12 tomato plants and 8 pepper plants. I lovingly dug holes, put water and fertilizer in and then covered them up. Then, I put hot caps on them and we even covered them that night with blankets. The next day we went and took a hot cap off to water them and THIS is what we found, (basically...this is 4 days later)
AHHHHHHH!!!
This is our LONE survivor! (You can see his dead comrade in the background!)
What?!?! You read right 12 tomatoes and 8 peppers and we have 1 survivor!! I don't know what happened! We are wondering if there was too much fertilizer or something. We have no idea. They looked so great in the house and then they died in one day in the ground! Crazy!
So, here are our new recruits...
I am almost scared to plant them! Let's hope they do better than the last ones!!

Oh No!! I can't believe only one survived! Good luck with your new ones!! If it makes you feel better we have 3 rows that nothing is growing in. I'm wondering if I forgot to plant those rows??? Hope my email didn't confuse you!! The rest of your garden looks awesome!!!
You put me to shame! How do you find the time to blog? I'm just catching up today. You have had a lot going on. We need to have lunch soon ! Poor little plants. I hope your new ones survive. At least you planted one. I'm shooting for next year!
Hey at least you planted a garden! That is pretty brave in and of itself. I know nothing about gardening so maybe you could teach me. Pretty soon your going to be a seasoned gardner! :)
I hear tomatoes have a hard time adapting to the weather. But WHAT DO I KNOW?! I've never gardened before. I think it will be a great skill to have and come this fall, I'm hoping to reap the benefits. Though I'm glad I can run to the store for a carrot when I need one. :)
