Snow suit time!!

When we had our first really good snow storm, the kids were very excited to go play outside. Unfortunately, Paisley's asthma was acting up and she didn't have any boots and snow pants that fit. So, Easton and Avery were the only ones able to go out and play. (Paisley was happy to stay in and hang out with me.)

I took some super cute pictures of them. Not much cuter than kids that are all bundled up and having a blast in the snow!!







A few days later we bough Paisley some new boots and snow pants, so they are all able to go play in the snow now. :)

Swim meet

During the summer, Easton and Paisley did 8 weeks of swimming lessons, twice a week for 1 1/2 hours each day. With all that swimming, they really began to swim well and learned the different strokes. After the summer, Easton was really sick of swimming. Paisley, on the other hand, loved it and wanted to do another session. So, we signed her up for another 8 week session.

At the end of November, they had a swim meet to show the parents how they had improved. Paisley swam in 5 races. She won 3 of them and came in 2nd on the other two. We were so proud of her. She swam the breast stroke, back stroke, free style, the butterfly stroke, and a relay. I was so impressed by how great she did. We had a great time watching our little swimmer.

By the end of this session, she was getting a little burned out on swimming. I don't blame her after 16 weeks straight. So, she is taking the spring off, but she and Easton will be right back with it in the summer!

Music Program

Last week, Easton and Paisley had a Christmas singing program at their elementary school. My parents and Dave's parents were both able to come and watch. It was fun to see them perform. They both had a lot of fun singing in front of the crowd. I am so glad that they haven't reached the age that it is "not cool" to sing in a program. They each had big smiles on their faces as they sang. After each song, Paisley would bow to the audience several times, as if she was the only child up there. I think she wished she was doing a solo. She just loves to be the center of attention.

I am so proud of my kids. They did an awesome job!

Beard or no beard???

As you could see in the pictures from our St. George trip, Dave had been sporting a full beard for quite a while. He was pretty proud of the growth, I was not so proud. I love my husband tons, just don't really love the long facial hair. :)

I FINALLY talked him into shaving it off. I mean, I couldn't even feel his lips to kiss him anymore, it was like just kissing whiskers. Ewwww! So, he said that if I would cut his hair (which I usually don't look forward to) that he would shave. So, I was very eager to get out the clippers and get cutting.

We decided to take some before and after shots. I would like to get some more opinions. Beard or no beard???








So, let me know what your opinion is. He really thinks that the beard was awesome! Help me prove him wrong! :)

St. George

Every year for the past about 6 years, Dave and I head to St. George the first weekend in December. We leave the kids with our parents and go for a weekend getaway by ourselves. I love it because it is a stress-free weekend before the craziness of December really sets in.

The reason that we go is for softball. Those of you who know Dave are not surprised by this. He has a love affair with baseball. Since he can no longer play baseball, he plays softball and LOVES every minute. Every 1st weekend in December, St. George puts on a huge softball tournament. They had over 80 teams participate this year. Part of the dues for the tournament is that every player has to bring a $10 toy to be donated to needy children for Christmas. If you figure every team has to have at least 10 players, that is more than 800 toys that get donated! I think that is awesome!

Anyway, this year was no exeption. Dave and I went to St. George with some good friends. We had a really great weekend. Dave's team won their 1st two games and lost their 2nd two. They played well together and had a lot of fun.

Here are the only pictures that I took, unfortuntely. Please forgive the crazy poses of Dave and his buddy, Josh. They have just a LITTLE too much fun together. Lucky me got to be with them for 3 days straight! :)




Thank you to my mom, Dave's parents, and Dave's sister and brother-in-law, and our sister-in-law who took great care of our kids. We are so so so grateful for our family who helps us to get away by ourselves once in a while.

Halloween....FINALLY!!!

So sad. I used to be such a great blogger. I used to have sometimes 12-13 or more posts per month. Well, not so much anymore. Here is is, 11 days until Christmas and I am JUST doing Halloween. So, so sad.

But, here we go. We did celebrate Halloween. The Monday before, our friends hosted a Halloween FHE. We had so much fun. The big activity for the night was a pumpkin contest. Our family made a Mickey Mouse pumpkin. The kids loved cleaning it out and Dave did most the carving. It turned out great. We had a wonderful night with good friends!









The kids loved when it was time to light the pumpkins. It was almost magical to them. So cute and fun! (I stole some pics off your blog, Shari! ;) Thanks!)

We went to my grandparents house for dinner and hung out with all the cousins on my side of the family.

We took all the kids out trick-or-treating together. We adults had a lot of fun chatting as the kids ran house to house. Here are Dave, my uncle Chad, aunt Debbie, my cousin, Justin, and Justin's wife, Chelsea.

Debbie made this cute costume for her oldest daughter. It was one of those machines filled with stuffed animals that has a "claw". Anyway, her daughter wouldn't wear it and Chad and Deb got sick of carrying it (as you can tell from this picture.) Chad ended up leaving it on a sidewalk with someone's trash. :)





These 3 are all within a couple months in age. They were so cute together! :)

We trick-or-treated until well after dark. It was a nice night and we had so much fun! And got WAY too much candy! :)

Flag Football

Easton played flag football again this fall. He has played several seasons now. He loves every minute of it! :) Football is definitely by far his favorite sport.

Dave was the assistant coach this year. I think that he loved every minute of it, as well. I am so glad that they were able to do it together.

Grandpa Johnson, Great-grandpa and grandma Johnson, and Easton's cousin, Stockton, were also there that game. But, I didn't get a picture for some reason! He had quite a cheering section that night.

I love watching Easton play football. He has gotten to be a great little player. He made several touch downs this season and had some great plays. I love to see him having so much fun.

Next fall he will be in pads! I can't believe he will be old enough for that! He can not wait!!
